What's In My Emergency Kit?

Working in retail, you're always on the go - working at different stores, extended days, short or long commutes and so on. I've worked in retail for 6 (going on 7) years and I always find that I leave something so essential at home that I have an ever growing perma-emergency kit in my purse. By readers demand, I'm sharing my emergency kit 'must-have's'

1. Hair ties, bobby pins and hair clips: An assortment would be great, specially when you're constantly putting your hair up. I can't stress enough how many times I've forgotten a hair tie (or pins and clips) when doing a visual merchandising flip. Trust me, as a woman, it's essential!

2. Wet Wipes: I've purchased a small packages of wipes from h&m for less than $2. It's great during long days of open-closes and handy to take your make-up off whenever possible.

3. Lighter: It's not only for cigarettes, it will come in handy whenever, where ever! Just watch - you'll need it.

4. Ricola/Lozenges: Honestly, with this weird weather in Toronto, you'll never know when your throat will start to itch.

5. A pad/Tampon: Ladies, you know mother nature likes to come when it pleases - you'll know the date, but not the time. Plus how many times has a fellow woman ask for one? It's a great 'just in case' item to have.

6. Contact Lenses Eye-Drops: I wear my contacts for up to 12 hours a day. You can imagine how dry my eyes will get at the end of the day - it's also great to refresh them mid day and keep them moisturized.

7. Contact Lenses Case: Just in case your eyes get itchy and need to switch over to your glasses - Let's be real these are #blindpeopleproblems

8. Oil Blotting Papers: This is essential ladies, let`s be real! Whether you have dry skin or oily skin, you can`t deny the build up during the day.

9. Benadryl: Allergy season = sneezing = pollen = swollen eyes = itchy throat and everything else in between!

Not in photo:
There are two essential items that I have run out of in my emergency kit that I think everyone should carry around in their purse:

10. Tylenol/Advil: Headaches? Yes I get them ever so often and in my line of work, I can't just go home because my head is pounding so this is definitely an emergency kit MUST HAVE!

11. Band-aids: I always carry 2-4, I mean those news shoes don't break themselves in, right ladies?
